Fox Hires Reilly as Entertainment President

Jul 9, 2007  •  Post A Comment

Fox Broadcasting hired Kevin Reilly as president of entertainment, just over a month after the executive was ousted from a similar job at NBC.
Mr. Reilly will report to newly promoted Fox Chairman Peter Liguori, reuniting the pair that, for three years ending in 2003, was responsible for bringing original programming including “Nip/Tuck” and “The Shield” to the FX cable channel.
Mr. Liguori’s promotion to chairman came with new responsibilities for developing ways to push Fox content across emerging media.
Earlier Monday, Fox promoted studio co-presidents Dana Walden and Gary Newman to chairmen of Twentieth Century Fox Television.
“When Peter Liguori approached me with the idea of reteaming with Kevin Reilly, I thought it was a bold move to redefine the structure of the network behind a pair of dynamic executives,” News Corp. President and chief operating officer Peter Chernin said in a statement.
NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker announced May 29 that the company had hired producer Ben Silverman to run its network and studio operations, pushing out Mr. Reilly, who had been entertainment president since 2004.
