Guess Shaq’s biggest challenge is drawing viewers.
ABC’s weight-loss reality series “Shaq’s Big Challenge,” hosted by basketball star Shaquille O’Neal, got off to a modest start in its debut Tuesday, finishing third in the 9 p.m. hour. “Challenge” posted a 1.7 rating among adults 18 to 49 in the preliminary Nielsens. It was followed by an episode of “Primetime” (2.1).
Overall, ABC was second for the night behind leader NBC, which continued to rule Tuesdays with its two-hour “America’s Got Talent” (3.7). “Talent” was down 16 percent from last week to post its lowest performance of the summer.
Fox was third with “On the Lot” (1.1) and a repeat. CBS and The CW were fourth and fifth, respectively, with repeats.
