NEWS REPORTER / CO-HOST (8/25/08)

KATV-TV (ABC) is seeking a News Reporter/Co-Host. This candidate will co-host the morning news program, present on-air newscasts, conduct live unrehearsed interviews, and prepare news stories. Must display good news judgment and maintain high journalistic standards. Will work closely with producers and reporters and make public appearances on behalf of the station. B.S. degree in Journalism or related field. Two years of progressively responsible experience in a television newsroom to include one year of on-air reporting. Demonstration tape required. Accurate and comprehensive writing skills. Ability to react quickly and appropriately on camera. Ability to ad lib. Ability to direct the work of others. Ability to maintain nice personal appearance. We are looking for the candidate to contribute to our directing concentration as well as the programming we produce on a regular basis through our classes and our television station, Frequency TV. Our desired candidate should be prepared to teach an array of introductory and advanced courses within the area, and be involved closely in the refining of production techniques across the curriculum, particularly in the area of camera and lighting. They are also expected to assist in the implementation of the new

HD remote production truck into the curriculum. The ability to translate high professional standards to an academic environment is critical for this position.
